I am in the process of diagramming out the new CodeUpdate4U.com.  This will be my first project based on a framework, and I have chosen Symfony for that task.  I chose it becauase it seemed to be in the top 1-2 of a lot of developers out there and, with some further reading, I believe it can meet all the goals I have set out for it.

My little girl, Hannah Elise Smith, was born today, March 11th at 12:14pm!  She's a sweetheart, weighing in at a hefty 7 pounds with a length of 22 inches.  It's such an odd feeling, hearing a baby cry and know that I'm the one that's supposed to take care of her!

We've been working hard over the last several months to build an online courseware system based on the open-source Moodle project.  The official launch was on December 1, and since then, dozens of contractors in the Virginia and surrounding areas have signed up to take these refresher courses from the comfort of their home or office.
